About
Jason Adair has been performing for children since 1995 as a puppeteer, storyteller and musician. His work in puppetry has taken him from the southernmost town in CA to the northernmost.
In addition to performing around the state, his work as a shadow puppeteer with New England’s Flock led hem to performing at the Engene O’niell National Puppetry Festival and later with San Francisco’s Shadowmakers as part of the first American troupe to perform at the International Shadow Theatre Festival in Schwaebish Gmund, Germany.
Taking a break from puppetry, Adair started the band Musical Robot who played over 50 shows a year. He also published the library favorite pop-up book “If You’re a Robot and You Know It” with David Carter through Scholastic. The band also put out two albums and a pilot for a TV show.
Adair has a Bachelors Degree in theater from CSUS where he studied under Master Puppeteer Richard Bay. He received the Student of the Year Award in 1997 for is work in the department.
